Join the University of Aberdeen Archaeology Society for their annual trip to Dunnottar Castle and Stonehaven! This popular trip allows students to explore the history and archaeology present within the Aberdeenshire area. The Archaeology Society is warmly welcoming us to meet them at their rendezvous point in Aberdeen and from there take the train along the beautiful East coast to Stonehaven where we will take a short walk to Dunnottar castle, exploring its incredible ruins and return to Stonehaven for fish and chips, and ice cream! Heirs to the Throne ProjectThird and Final Royal Annual: The Heirs to the Throne project which has been running since 2012 present their final annual addressing aspects of the lives and functions of royal heirs in 19th-century Europe.
The research project focused systematically and comparatively on the roles played and contributions made by those waiting to come into the glittering inheritance of a European Crown. The biological realities of hereditary rule made heirs to the throne a crucial part of monarchical systems.
